Sour the Draught
Level 2 Midnight Spell Recall Cost: 1
Choose one potion type you can see, or is certain is there within Very Close range, spend a Stress, and make a Spellcast Roll (12) vs minor, (14) vs standard, (16) vs major.
On a success, the potion becomes permanently nonmagical. Its true alchemical properties are destroyed. Its appearance and smell remain unchanged, but it tastes faintly of sour milk.
On a failure, the potion remains effective, and a sharp vinegar smell alerts anyone holding it that something has happened.
This spell affects a unconsumed doses. It cannot undo an effect already produced by drinking a potion.
Spend a Hope to partially effect another type of potion at close range. The user of a partially effected potion can roll the above save for the potion of an d20 vs 12.14. and 16 respectively.
From Granny Nettles’ Book of Small Spites: “A pinch for the kettle, a curse for the cup. Let’s see what heals you when you drink that up.”**
