The Collective People of Vros
Unity from truth. Peace through unity. From the people, to the people.
The Kinlands' communities are organized around peace, cooperation, and mutual provision. Philly is formally Collective People’s Philly. Life here can be orderly, comfortable, and secure. Disagreement and disorder can also bring unwelcome attention.
The Gift
Residents receive healthy food, simple clothing, clean shelter, and basic medical care. The civic notes also call this provision the Given. It is considered a contribution from the people to the people, rather than charity.
The communal wash accepts clothes and gives back an equal number. The garments are simple, practical, and largely unisex, with head coverings. People select colors without much concern for matching: orange and blue, for example, are perfectly ordinary together.
Adventurers carrying armor, weapons, specialized equipment, and elaborate clothing stand out among these neighbors.

Work and the Collective
Every community has a governing Collective. Its members are anonymous; the public representative is the Voice of the Collective. Residents engaged in recognized work are called Speakers, and Speakers select the Voice every two years.
The Gift provides the necessities. Gold still buys specialized goods outside that provision: expedition tools, better equipment, and healing potions, for example.
Truth, law, and reputation
The society values truth and civic unity. Truth magic can prevent a deliberate lie; it does not make a person all-knowing, force a complete answer, or correct a sincere mistake.
People quietly suspect that lawbreakers disappear into distant fields, mines, and factories. The party has heard the public benedictions and experienced the pressure to pay attention. What lies behind those suspicions remains unestablished here.
