# The Engine Run — Basic Start

![The civic work hall](../../../../../900_Assets/Images/NPCs/Unemployment%20office.%20hdrpng.png)

The expedition begins with ordinary residents of [Philly](../300_Locations/Philly.md) answering the [University of Arcana](../400_Characters/Factions_Groups/University%20of%20Arcana.md)’s call. Every company member has contributed some regular work to the Gift.

See [Basic Start and Roles](Basic%20start%20and%20Roles.md) for the introduction and work choices, and [Previously on The Engine Run](../500_Sessions%20%26%20Logs/Party%20-%20Matt%20Sarah%20and%20Barb/Important%20thoughts%20-The%20Engine%20Run%20-%20October%203rd.md) for what happened next.
