Give one another time to learn, think, ask questions, and correct course. Listen when someone else speaks and make room for every player to contribute. ## Help describe the world What does your magic look like? What sound does it make? What do people nearby experience? Describe your attacks, defenses, spells, and intent in a way that belongs to your character. Flavor costs nothing. The magic is you. ## Shared story The GM may play your opponents, but is not your opponent. We are here to create a good, great, or epic story together. Mistakes become part of what happened and can create the best stories. Keep trying, communicate with your teammates, and look for new uses of your abilities. Running away is another strategy. When you land a finishing blow, the GM may ask, “How do you want to do this?” Describe it in the dramatic, ridiculous, funny, or personal way that fits your character. ## Cutscenes and concerns The GM will identify a cutscene and make clear when player control returns. Anyone can raise a concern during or after play; no one needs to disclose a personal history to ask for a scene to be handled differently. ## Scattershot missions The campaign uses a sequence of missions in a shared world. The players and characters available for each mission can change. A completed mission’s consequences remain part of the ongoing history.
